dr wells

Dr. Friede Wells

Founder and Veterinarian
January 26th, 1934- August 17th, 2022

Dr. Wells founded Bryan County Animal Hospital in 1966.  She held degrees from Germany, Ohio State, and Oklahoma State University.  Dr. Wells’ favorite part of being a veterinarian was helping people and animals. When Dr. Friede was not at her hospital she was enjoying time with her family whom she made Sunday dinner for every week. She was a dedicated and talented veterinarian who touched many lives. Dr. Friede will be greatly missed by her family, clients, and staff. 

Dr. Chuck Holder

Associate Veterinarian, Veterinarian

Dr. Holder has been with Bryan County Animal Hospital since 1992.  An OSU graduate, Dr. Holder enjoys helping all animals and serving the community.  In his spare time, Dr. Holder likes woodworking and being with his wife and pets; several cats and dogs.

Dr. Billy Wells

Associate Veterinarian, Veterinarian

Dr. Wells joined Bryan County Animal Hospital in 1996.  He holds degrees from Ross University -1998 and OSU-1994. Dr. Wells chose a career in Veterinary medicine to follow in his parents’ footsteps. He enjoys helping the animals.

When not at BCAH, Dr. Wells enjoys spending time at the lake with his family, hunting and fishing. He and his family are the proud owners of several pets, including Ben the Lab, Henry the Aussie mix, and Izzy the Texas Heeler (Plus all of his wife’s cats!). Additionally they raise  multiple cattle and Beaudro the Horse.

David

Veterinary Technician, Veterinary Assistant

David started at Bryan County Animal Hospital in 1987.  One of his favorite parts about working in veterinary medicine has been the cows. When David’s not at the clinic, he and his working dogs can be found on his ranch. 

Krista

Certified Veterinary Technician, Veterinary Technician, Veterinary Assistant

Krista joined the Bryan County Animal Hospital team in 1996.  She has a degree from Dallas Community College and enjoys doing dental work at the clinic.  In her free time, Krista can be found hanging by the pool with her husband and their Husky, Lily.

Jaycie

Veterinary Technician, Veterinary Assistant, Receptionist, Animal Care Attendant, Kennel Assistant

Jaycie joined the Bryan County Animal Hospital team in 2004. Her lifelong passion for working with animals is displayed outside of the clinic as she shares her home with several hunting dogs, cattle, horses, chickens, and pigs.  She also has a Texas Heeler named Josie!  In her free time, you can find her spending time with family, fishing, riding horses, and hunting.

Kristi

 Veterinary Technician, Veterinary Assistant

Kristi joined the Bryan County Animal Hospital team in 2016. Her favorite part of veterinary medicine is the PUPPIES (well, and she enjoys all of the other animals, too!) When not at work, Kristi enjoys riding horses, raising dogs, and spending time with her family, and loyal guard dog, Ruby.

Anna

Veterinary Technician

Anna earned her Bachelor of Science degree from Oklahoma State University in 2020, majoring in Animal Science with an Animal Biotechnology option and minoring in Microbiology. Currently, she is pursuing a major in Veterinary Nursing at Murray State College, expected to graduate in May 2024, with aspirations to become a Registered Veterinary Nurse.

Her favorite aspect of veterinary medicine lies in the personal connections she forms with her patients and their owners. Anna’s career path was shaped by her unwavering passion for animal welfare and her fascination with scientific advancements in veterinary medicine. She thrives on learning and practicing new skills, driven by her dedication to providing the best possible care for animals.

In her leisure time, Anna recharges her batteries through various activities. She delights in tending her garden and embraces the outdoors, immersing herself in nature through hikes, walks, or simply basking in its beauty. When the day winds down, she cozies up with a good book. Anna shares her life with her fiancé and a diverse array of pets, including three loyal dogs, three cozy indoor cats, a handful of friendly barn cats, and a flock of chickens.

Talon

Veterinary Assistant, Animal Care Attendant, Kennel Assistant

Talon has been at Bryan County Animal Hospital since 2016.  Currently, a student at SOSU in animal science/pre-vet, Talon enjoys assisting the doctors during exams.  When not at the clinic, Talon can be found hanging out with friends and pets, Wrangler and Conway.

Cheyanne

Hospital Manager, Veterinary Assistant, Receptionist, Animal Care Attendant

Cheyanne started at Bryan County Animal Hospital in 2020.  She holds a bachelor of arts degree from UNT in Denton.  Her favorite part about working with animals is being an advocate for them since they can’t help themselves.  When not at the clinic, she can be found lifting weights, target shooting with her husband, or watching a favorite tv show.   Cheyanne lives by the same dichotomy as her kitties.  She has 6 inside/outside cats who love lazing around on her porch when they aren’t attacking random objects around her house. 

Glenna

Veterinary Assistant, Receptionist, Animal Care Attendant

Glenna joined Bryan County Animal Hospital in 2022. She graduated from SOSU in the same year, earning a Bachelor of Science degree. With her strong educational background and love for animals, Glenna brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to our clinic.

Glenna has a genuine appreciation for the “family” environment and the “small town” feel of our clinic. She thrives in a close-knit community and is committed to providing compassionate care to all our patients. Her warm and welcoming nature, combined with her knowledge and experience, makes Glenna an invaluable asset to our team.

When Glenna is not working at the clinic, she enjoys spending quality time with her furry companions. Her household is filled with the delightful presence of an Australian Shepherd named Penny, a Terrier named Sugar, and a Shih Tzu named Friede. Additionally, Glenna is a proud cat parent, sharing her home with seven feline friends. Her love for animals extends beyond her professional life, making her a perfect fit for our team.

Angela

Veterinary Assistant, Receptionist, Animal Care Attendant

Angela is an enthusiastic addition to the Bryan County Animal Hospital team, having joined in 2022. Angela finds fulfillment in her role as a caregiver and educator for pets and their owners. She is committed to providing exceptional care for animals and takes pride in helping pet owners better understand their furry companions. Angela chose a career in veterinary medicine because it allows her to combine her passion for animals with her desire to assist and educate pet owners in providing the best care possible. Her upcoming journey into motherhood further fuels her dedication to promoting the well-being and understanding of both human and animal families.

Beyond her dedication to animal care, Angela has an exciting personal milestone on the horizon. She is eagerly awaiting the arrival of her second child, due in October 2023. In her leisure time, Angela indulges in grooming her three dogs and embarking on horseback rides with her family. These activities not only bring her joy but also contribute to her well-rounded understanding of animals and their needs.

With a strong passion for animals, she shares her home with three beloved dogs named Ivy, Sadie, and Lincoln. They share Angela’s love for the water and frequently embark on trail rides together. Angela finds joy in the magical tales of “Spirit” and “The NeverEnding Story” and appreciates the lessons and inspiration they provide.

DeLaney

Veterinary Assistant, Receptionist, Animal Care Attendant

DeLaney became a part of Bryan County Animal Hospital in 2022. She is a dedicated and passionate individual who recently graduated from high school in May 2023. As DeLaney embarks on her college journey at Murray State, she enters as a sophomore, pursuing a degree in veterinary medicine. Her fondness for animals began at a young age, and she is excited to turn her passion into a rewarding career. DeLaney is particularly drawn to her current workplace due to the strong bonds she shares with her coworkers, who have become like a second family to her. Their camaraderie and supportive environment make her feel at home, further fueling her passion for animal welfare and the veterinary field.
In addition to her love for animals, DeLaney has a diverse range of interests and hobbies. Baking is one of her favorite pastimes, allowing her to create delicious treats for family and friends. She also finds joy in watching movies, swimming, attending rodeos, and exploring the world of fashion through shopping. An accomplished dancer, DeLaney dedicated 13 years to the art form, using her talent as a means of earning money.
With a deep love for animals, DeLaney has five rescue dogs named Harlee, Lady, Rue, Tilly, and Stuart, who bring her immense joy. She enjoys spending time outdoors with her furry companions, especially when feeding pigs.

Taylor

Veterinary Assistant, Receptionist, Animal Care Attendant

Meet Taylor, a dynamic and animal-loving individual who started working at Bryan County Animal Hospital in 2023. Taylor’s unwavering dedication to animals is evident in their statement, “I’m just here for the animals.” Their commitment to providing top-notch care and attention shines through in every interaction. 
Beyond their dedication to animal care, Taylor has a wide range of hobbies and interests. When not working at the clinic, you’ll likely find them riding ATVs, bow fishing, or raising and nurturing puppies. Taylor’s enthusiasm for outdoor activities and nurturing animals is a perfect complement to their role at the clinic.
Taylor’s affection for creatures of all varieties is unmistakable, as evidenced by the remarkable array of animals they care for at home. From French Bulldogs, Miniature Schnauzers, Labradors, to Pugs, Taylor’s favorite companions are undoubtedly the adorable Miniature Schnauzers. However, Taylor’s furry family doesn’t stop there; horses, chickens, cats, and goats also find their home under Taylor’s caring supervision.

Kayla

Receptionist

Kayla became part of the Bryan County Animal Hospital team in September 2023 and has found fulfillment in her role from day one. Currently a sophomore at South Eastern Oklahoma State University, she is balancing her academic journey with her immersion in the world of animal care. Kayla finds joy in knowing that her work directly impacts the well-being of both people and animals. Her passion for helping others shines through in her commitment to providing exceptional service to every client who walks through their doors.

In her personal life, Kayla’s days are brightened by her animal companions, which include a horse named Poppy, an abundance of chickens, and three beloved dogs, along with her family’s cattle. With a background as a former member of the university volleyball team, Kayla infuses her work environment with her team spirit and unwavering determination.
